Ice report
How thick the ice is and what's biting, sent in by folks who were out there. We look over every report before it goes up, and they drop off after two weeks.
No ice is safe ice
These are reports from people, not the DNR. It's what one person saw in one spot on one day, and nobody's out there checking them. The DNR doesn't keep track of ice on local lakes either. Ice can be a foot thick in one spot and soft a stone's throw away, near springs, inlets, current, pressure cracks and under snow.
Check it yourself with a spud bar as you go, and stop at the bait shop and ask how it's been; the DNR says they usually know best. The DNR won't put a number on safe ice. The rule of thumb you hear a lot is at least 4 inches of clear, solid ice to walk on, and a lot more for a sled, ATV or truck. White or slushy ice isn't near as strong as clear. Bring ice picks and a rope, and stay off it at night and where you don't know the lake.
No reports in the last two weeks. Been out? Send one in.
